March 16, 2019 – Central Luzon TV36 (CLTV36) bagged local and national awards from two distinguished award-giving bodies. CLTV36 won Best Local TV Station Award from Holy Angel University’s (HAU) Paragala: Central Luzon Media Awards, now winning it three years in a row. On the same day, the station received the Most Development-Oriented TV Plug award from the University of the Philippines Los Baños’ (UPLB) Gandingan, besting other regional and national TV stations. The CLTV36 entry tackled the importance of critical thinking and accurate information in defeating fake news. CLTV36 Vice-President & Deputy General Manager Billy San Juan credited the win to the youth and their thirst for a better future in his speech. Men of Light, which is aired in CLTV36, also bagged the award for Best Religious Program. The Paragala, organized by HAU and the HAU Communicators’ League, selects its winners through 30,000 ballots from 29 Central Luzon schools, making it the biggest student-based award-giving body in the Region. Gandingan winners, on the other hand, were chosen by a panel of broadcasting professors, UPLB University Student Council Members, and students. The Gandingan Awards aims to encourage the production and airing of development-oriented radio and TV programs for the benefit of every Filipino. CLTV36 is the first and only regional TV station in Central Luzon. It is seen through free-to-air channel 36, in cable through Cignal channel 115, and through internet streaming via the CLTV36 app. Caption: CLTV36 Vice-President and Deputy Gen.
